Several police officers have been injured after a brawl erupted outside a popular Sydney nightclub on the weekend.

Police attended MVP Nightclub on Pitt Street just before midnight on Saturday following reports a man had punched and kicked another man inside the premises.

The 25-year-old Yagoona man had already been escorted from the location by security guards when police arrived.

“While officers were attempting to arrest the man, a number of other individuals became involved,” NSW Police said.

“The man then allegedly shoved a constable in the chest.”

Dramatic vision has since emerged of police using pepper spray to subdue the man and other members of the group, including a woman who had allegedly punched an officer in the face and another man who had allegedly pushed a sergeant in the chest.

The three men and a woman were arrested with the assistance of the Public Order and Riot Squad and later charged.

All four appeared at Parramatta Local Court on Sunday and were granted conditional bail to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on April 29.

A fourth man from Kingsgrove was also arrested at the scene and later charged with two counts of resisting or hindering a police officer in the execution of duty.

The officers were treated for minor injuries.
