Sutherland Shire Police Area Command has welcomed six newly graduated police officers.
The officers graduated on December 4 following a NSW Police Force Attestation Parade at Sydney Cricket Ground in front of family and friends.
They reported for duty for the first time on December 7, having completed eight months of foundational training.
In a Facebook post, the command welcomed Dylan, Sarah, Matt, Clinton, Emma and Matthew and offered its “best wishes for a safe and rewarding career”.
They join seven new probationary constables who started work with the command in October.
State MP for Miranda Eleni Petinos welcomed the new recruits to Sutherland Shire.
“Sutherland Shire Police Area Command has been lucky to welcome 30 new recruits this year, who have been a boost to public safety during a time when they have been most needed,” Ms Petinos said.
“I am pleased to welcome these officers to their new command and congratulate them on completing their training during unusual circumstances.”
The NSW government has committed $583 million to boost police numbers by 1500 over the next four years.
