A 29-year-old driver has allegedly crashed into a police car while nearly five times the legal limit in Sydney’s inner-west.
NSW Police last night responded to reports a white Mitsubishi Pantech truck was allegedly being driven in an erratic manner at Marrickville.
The vehicle was stopped by police on Victoria Road and as officers approached the truck it allegedly rolled backwards crashing into the front of the police car.No one was injured and the police car was not badly damaged.However, the driver drove off along Victoria Road and allegedly ran a red light before being pulled over again.
The man, from Harris Park, was arrested and taken to Newtown Police Station where he was subjected to a breath analysis. He allegedly returned a reading of 0.238.He was charged with high range PCA and not comply with conditions of licence.
His driver’s licence was suspended before he was granted conditional bail to appear before Newtown Local Court on December 1.
